FREE 1960 MANSON 30'
FREE
1960 MANSON 30'. Owner says, "These boats were built in
Salisbury, MA. She was a grand boat in her day. The boat is my Dad's and
he bought it in the mid 90's, used it until 2002, and it has been
sitting since. There is substantial wood rot throughout the boat; the
worst seems to be the transom which has come apart on the port side. The
exterior will need a lot of structural work but it is still repairable.
The interior is mostly very dirty and would need a lot of refinishing
and some repairs as there is evidence that animals have been chewing on
some of the woodwork. As for the engine, it has been idle for over 6
years; there is a good possibility that it is seized. I believe it is a
Chrysler engine. It will be a major project to get her back into
operation. My father would love to hear it will be repaired and used
again. If you are up to the challenge and would like more information or
pictures please contact me." Since the photo on page 1 was taken, the
Manson was suffered additional damage -- including to the keel, rudder,
and shaft -- after being blown over in a storm. The boat is located in
Yarmouthport, MA. When Chuck told me that the Manson was "free to anyone
who would like the challenge," I knew that the Bone Yard Boats crowd
would rise to the occasion! [THIS BOAT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE -- CONTACT
INFO REMOVED.]
