1938 STEPHENS SEDAN CRUISER 29'. Owner says, "Here's some info on SEPTEMBER SONG, formerly ELEANOR IV, formerly WEARY WILLIE. She's a 1938 Stephen's Admiral Tender Classic Sedan Cruiser Deluxe sold to Admiral A.B. Saroni on December 15, 1937. I have the original (maybe a copy) sales reciept. She was used as a tender for when the port captain would take over the docking of ships coming in from a tour for the Navy. She was born in Stockton CA and had some upgrades done to her from the shipbuilder, such as teak add-on's, a skylight, cabin windows made to open, a medicine locker, a built-in teak dish locker, a compass, a searchlight, a swim ladder (mint). She's a Cavell planked cedar hull which is over 1" x 1 1/8" steam bent oak hull framing. Her deck beams are sawn fir, as well as her keel. She started out life with a 90hp in line 6 cylinder (?) but now has a 65hp Gray Marine motor installed sometime in the 60's. She holds 55 gallons of gas fuel with an aluminum tank. She has been totally rewired. I have her ship log and a file on money spent on her from way back. She won the Wooden Boat Show here in San Diego in 1995 and 1997. She needs to be restored to her long ago beauty. Her replacement is valued at $80,000. I'm asking $5000 for this diamond in the rough." New interior and bedding, with outside cushions in Sunbrella fabric. Sleeps 5. Alcohol stove, galley dinette, aft seating. Mahogany, teak and holly throughout. Icebox, sink and port-a-potty. Contact Pete at loonywop@aol.com or 619-804-2353 (San Diego, CA)
