1946 PHILIP RHODES NEW WEEKENDER 39'. Beam is 9'9" and length is 38'10". Mahogany hull covered with 3 layers of cloth w/epoxy. 1986 27hp diesel Westerbeke inboard with approx 1600 hours. Owner says, "The boat is in good condition. Covered with minimum 3 layers fiberglass w/epoxy. Hull does not leak and is currently in the water and has been used this summer. This boat was a classic yacht when designed by Rhodes, and we bought it in 1970. We have cruised it extensively from Maine to Florida, living aboard twice for 8 months, as well as 4 & 6 week trips. She sails beautifully and is excellent to windward. It does not pound and slices through even a choppy sea. We installed roller furling on both jib and mainsail in the 1980's for easier handling. Mast and boom replaced in the 1980's with aluminum to reduce maintenance. The decks are also fiberglass with mahogany toe rail and hand rails on cabin top."

"There is a mahogany wheel with a worm gear. The cabin sleeps 4. Galley aft with Origo stove & frig. Head enclosed s.s. sink & shower. Fold down table in main cabin." Asking $10,000 (?) or best offer. Contact Mary at... [contact info deleted] (NY)

[BYB: This listing came on a hand-written form. It's possible the owner has an asking price of $16,000. It was difficult to tell if it said 10 or 16, so be prepared for the higher price. Could not confirm $ by press time.]

UPDATE 5/4/11:  The owner of the sailboat pictured here, called to say that the 1946 Rhodes is no longer available. She mentioned that of all the ads placed for this boat over the past 2 years, it was the Bone Yard Boats listing that sold the boat.
