Bone Yard Boats features FREE BOATS in nearly every issue -- actually I can't think of an issue without FREE BOATS.

This is not a complete list of FREE boats.

Summer 2015 (Issue No. 68)

1905 Lawley 30' Sloop

FREE BOAT: 1905 LAWLEY 30' KNOCKABOUT SLOOP

"She's copper riveted, cedar on oak, with bronze web frames forward and aft. She is in need of a total restoration. Work and family have kept me from doing the work needed, and I have no place close to moor her.  She is therefore offered free to a knowledgeable person willing to come and get her and pick up where I left off..."  <PICS+INFO>

Summer 2015 (Issue No. 68)

1937 Commuter Yacht 65' PHOENIX

FREE BOAT:  1937 COMMUTER YACHT 65' PHOENIX

I can just imagine E.E. Dickinson boarding his new commuter yacht early on a 1937 summer morning and racing down Long Island Sound through a light chop with other titans of industry and finance and then into the East River to dock PHOENIX for the day at the New York Yacht Club's 26th Street landing.  Designed by Sparkman & Stephens and built by Consolidated Shipbuilding, PHOENIX has been on the hard for the past few years and not doing well.  The yard wants her gone, and her owner would like to see her saved.  FREE to a Qualified Home -- i.e., one possessing the skills and resources to properly care for her.  Yards fees owed.  Photo above c2011 just before coming out of the water.  <PICS+INFO>

Summer 2015

1966 Chris Craft Sea Hawk 33'

FREE BOAT:  1966 CHRIS CRAFT CORINTHIAN 33'

"Kept in the water under a garage covered slip since she was bought in 1966. I am the third owner. The original owner named her BOMBSHELL II. The second owner bought her in 2010, renamed her the VERONICA, went through a divorce, and I ended up with her in April 2014..."    <PICS+INFO>

Spring 2015 (Issue No. 67)

1956 John Alden Sloop

FREE BOAT:  1956 JOHN ALDEN 30' SLOOP

"Alden referred to this as 'The Little Tramp Class'. There were several boats built to the basic design but with slight variations. Sadly, we will be moving and do not have the time to complete this project. The vessel has teak decks and comes with an extraordinary amount of hardware including an antique ships wood burning stove..."   <PICS+INFO>

Some free boats in every issue -- so far anyway.

Summer 2015 (Issue No. 68)

1968 Ventnor 28' Sedan

1966 VENTNOR 28' SEDAN -- ASKING: YARD FEES

"I have owned this boat for twenty years. Everything works. Needs bright work refinished and probably exterior paint. Selling the boat because I'm 85, broke my leg, and moving south. As to price, I would like to get yard fees (...will be less than $1000 at the end of summer)..."       <PICS+INFO>

Summer 2015 (Issue No. 68)

1966 WITTHOLZ CATBOAT 25'

FREE BOAT:  1966 WITTHOLZ 25' CATBOAT

"I just can't cut it up. The deck, cabin and cockpit coaming must be replaced, along with a few hull planks. The hull is fair, and has been properly supported. The boat has been under cover for the past 10 years. There are two masts: the original wood mast and a fiberglass mast from a Non-Such. There is no engine and no trailer. The sail is in good usable condition as are the almost new bunk cushions. All running rigging is old and should probably be replaced. Most of the original bronze hardware is there. The steering pedestal is from another boat, and I have most of the pulleys to install it. No steering wheel. This is a big project, but well worth the effort if a BIG catboat lights your fire."  <PICS+INFO>

Summer 2015

1964 Arundel 30'

FREE BOAT:  1964 ARUNDEL 30'

"The boat was built 1964 in Biddeford, Maine by Rumery's Boat Yard. I bought the boat off of the original owner. The boat has been documented with the Coast Guard. It has been out of the water for about 4 or 5 years. It has a single engine. A new deck was put in..."    <PICS+INFO>

Spring 2015 (Issue No. 67)

Free Boat 1969 Chris Craft Commander 31'

FREE BOAT:  1969 CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER 31'

"All glass project boat. I bought her from a gentlemen named Bob about 20 years ago.  I started restoration but cannot finish. At this point, I realize that I will never get to it.  I would love to see it go to someone who will use it. Both upper and lower station gave full control, including ignition switches. I still have the original owner's manual and..."     <PICS+INFO>
