Owner says, "This boat is available for free. It was built in 1933, one
of the first designs of Arvid Laurin. It was designed as a racing boat
based on a traditional double-ended hull... I'm very anxious to find the

BOAT: 1928 MATTHEWS STOCK CRUISER 38'

"1928 Matthews 38 foot Stock Cruiser with 11 foot beam. The hull number is
1075. Engine is a Chrysler 318 with hydraulic reverse gear, 8 cylinders...
The engine was tuned up in 2009 to include new plugs, wires, distributor
cap, rotor, points, etc., and was running well in 2009. The interior is all

According to Finger Lakes Boating Museum site: "The Comet went on to become
one of the most popular racing classes in American history... The
Skaneateles Boats Company was one of the primary builders of wooden Comets,

"I just have a heart for the boat and hate to see another bit of history
gone. I hate to see the boat destroyed for lack of interest. Any help is

"I have an early Penn Yan Sea Liner that I will happily give away... it is
quite rare and well worth restoring by someone who is doing it for himself.
I literally removed it from a burn pile... I have all the hardware,

Hull #1551 and Hull #2050. 5' beam. "Well, I did way too much "retrieving"
last summer and fall, so it's someone else's turn to get two super early
one-design, racing sailboats for free. Both boats are 90%+ complete and

"Reportedly built 1936 by WW Phinney. Major restoration/TLC required. It
would be a shame to have to destroy it. I've had this boat for 20 years with
the intention of rebuilding it, but at this stage in my life it is more of a
